For far too long you’ve been told your body isn’t good enough and that you are only loveable if you look a certain way (*ahem BS!).
From a ripe young age you may have gone to Slimming World or Weight Watchers with mom and witnessed her pinch and prod her body with shame. Maybe you were even called horrible names and led to believe that your body is the only value you bring to the world.
Naturally, you’ve been on diets for as long as you can remember and somehow keep regaining the weight you lose AND some.
When you go on a diet, the body is unable to distinguish between semi-starvation (aka dieting) and a full on famine. So what happens is survival mechanisms kick into gear and RING THE ALARM! This starts at the level of your brain and initiates a cascade of events known as the restriction-binge cycle.
When you intentionally restrict your eating and eat below your body’s basic energy needs, hunger hormones spike, fullness hormones dip and you’re left going on a pizza bender not knowing how to stop!
It’s not about willpower – it’s biology!
